EN 1993-1-8 simplified method: f_vw,d = f_u / (√3·β_w·γ_M2), capacity = f_vw,d × throat × length. Throat a = 0.707 × leg. γ_M2 = 1.25. For preliminary design — verify weld group geometry and eccentricity separately.
AISC 360 (LRFD): φR_n = φ·0.6·F_EXX·throat, φ=0.75. Transverse welds gain up to 50% (directionality factor). For preliminary design — check base metal capacity and weld group effects separately.
