When a machine is down, a structure has failed or a modification needs doing now, sending it to a workshop is not always an option. Forgepoint attends site across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and the wider North West with our own van, equipment and full insurance to carry out welding repairs, structural modifications and small bespoke fabrications at your facility. Emergency attendance is available where the job demands it.

Because the work is done by engineers, a repair comes with the judgement behind it: whether the failure is a one-off or a design problem, whether a modification changes the loads on something else, and when a repair should be followed by a proper design fix. Call and describe the job; we will confirm whether we can attend and give a ballpark on the phone.

What's included

How it works

  1. Call or text with a description and, if you can, a photo.
  2. We confirm attendance, timing and a ballpark on the call.
  3. We attend with van and equipment, do the job and leave the area clear.
  4. If the failure points to a design issue, we say so and can follow up with a proper engineering fix.

Sectors and standards

Sectors: Manufacturing plants, food and drink production, process and chemical sites, warehousing and logistics, workshops, and commercial and industrial buildings.

Standards we work to: BS EN ISO 9606 welder qualification, BS EN ISO 5817 weld quality levels, BS EN 1090 for structural steelwork, PUWER and LOLER where machinery and lifting equipment are involved.

Pricing

Defined projects are quoted as a fixed price after we have seen the brief, so you know the cost before work starts. Open-ended or hourly work is charged from £59 per hour, billed monthly or per engagement. Every enquiry starts with a free consultation: call or text, tell us what you are working on, and you get an honest steer with no obligation.

Questions we are asked

How quickly can you attend?
Same or next day is often possible in Greater Manchester and the surrounding area. Tell us if it is an emergency and we will prioritise it.
What can you weld on site?
Carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium by TIG and MIG. For thick section or high-volume work a workshop is sometimes the better route, and we will say so.
Do you do certified structural welding?
Yes, with qualified welders and inspection to BS EN ISO 5817. Where BS EN 1090 execution class documentation is required, we work with your responsible welding coordinator or provide one.
Is there a call-out charge?
Attendance is charged by the hour from the time we leave, plus consumables. We give a ballpark on the phone so there are no surprises.

Talk to the engineer who will do the work. Call now for a free initial consultation, or text a brief outline and we will reply.
