Forgepoint provides SolidWorks design and detailing as a contractor to manufacturers, fabricators and engineering companies that need capacity, a specialist for a project, or a full design pack from a brief. We work from your sketch, your existing models or a blank sheet and deliver 3D models, general arrangements and complete fabrication drawing packs your workshop or supplier can build from on day one.
Drawings are produced to BS 8888 with proper tolerancing, weld symbols to ISO 2553, materials and finishes called out, and a bill of materials and revision control from the start. Because we also do analysis and pressure equipment work, the drawings come from engineers who know what the part has to withstand, not just what it looks like.

Questions we are asked
- Do you work in other CAD packages?
- SolidWorks is our primary tool. We exchange with Inventor, Fusion, Creo and NX through STEP and Parasolid, and deliver 2D in DXF and PDF.
- How is contract design work charged?
- Defined packs are quoted as a fixed price after we have seen the brief. Ongoing or open-ended work is charged from £59 per hour, billed monthly or per engagement.
- Can you work on site or in our office?
- Most work is remote. Site visits for surveys, measurement and design reviews are available across the North West and further afield when the job needs it.
- Who owns the models and drawings?
- You do. Native files are handed over with the deliverables.
